Snorkeling Questions
Do I need to know how to swim to go snorkeling?
No swimming skills required! Gustavo provides life vests and guides you in the water every step of the way. Children, seniors, and first-timers are all welcome — you'll be in calm, shallow water the whole time.
What's included in the snorkeling tour?
Everything you need: high-quality mask, snorkel, and fins; an in-water guide; underwater photos at no extra charge; free pickup from your cruise port, hotel, or the ferry; lunch, fresh fruit, ceviche, and drinks (soda, water, beer) served on board. $70 per person for a 6-hour adventure.
What will I see while snorkeling?
You'll explore Blue Channel and the Underwater Museum — two world-class sites on the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest in the world. Expect sea turtles, tropical fish, vibrant coral formations, starfish, and if you're lucky, Caribbean reef sharks and southern stingrays.
Can I go snorkeling if I wear glasses or contacts?
Absolutely. The masks seal around your eyes, so contacts work fine. If you wear glasses, Gustavo can help you find a mask that fits comfortably — just let him know when you book.
Is the snorkeling tour suitable for kids?
Yes! Gustavo welcomes families and has guided plenty of children on the reef. Kids' life vests are provided, and the shallow reef areas are perfect for young snorkelers. The tour moves at your group's pace.
Fishing Questions
How much does a fishing trip cost?
3-hour half-day trips start at $350 for up to 4 anglers ($400 for 5, $420 for 6). 4-hour extended trips — reaching deeper water for tuna, wahoo, and mahi-mahi — start at $450 for up to 4 anglers ($500 for 5, $550 for 6). All tackle, drinks, and fresh snacks included. No fishing license needed in Honduras.
What kind of fish can I catch?
On coastal and reef trips: grouper, snapper, barracuda, and jack. On deep-sea runs: mahi-mahi, tuna, wahoo, sailfish, and marlin. If you reel one in, Gustavo will slice up fresh tuna sashimi right on the boat.
I'm a solo traveler — can I join a fishing trip?
Yes! Solo anglers, couples, and trios are absolutely welcome. Gustavo coordinates the boat and will find a spot for you. Message him to see what's available on your dates.
Do I need to bring my own fishing gear?
Nope. Top-quality rods, reels, tackle, bait, and safety gear are all provided. Just show up ready to fish — and maybe bring sunscreen.
What's the best time of year for fishing in Roatán?
Fishing is great year-round, but the peak season runs December through May when the waters are calmest. Mahi-mahi and tuna are plentiful in spring and summer; wahoo and billfish are more common in fall and winter months.

Where exactly is Gustavo Pavon Tours located?
Gustavo operates out of West End, Roatán, in the Bay Islands of Honduras. He'll pick you up from the cruise port, your hotel, or the ferry at no extra charge — basically anywhere on the island.
I'm arriving by cruise ship — will I make it back in time?
Absolutely. Gustavo has been doing this for 40+ years and knows cruise schedules inside out. You'll be back at port with time to spare. Just let him know your ship's schedule when you message.
How do I book a tour?
Message Gustavo directly on WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger. He'll personally plan your day, answer any questions, and confirm availability. No booking fees, no middlemen — just you and Gustavo figuring out the perfect day on the water.
What should I bring?
Sunscreen, a towel, swimwear, and a sense of adventure. Gustavo provides everything else — snorkel gear, fishing tackle, food, drinks, and photos.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety comes first. If conditions aren't right, Gustavo will work with you to reschedule or adjust the plan. He's flexible and wants you to have the best possible experience — not a rainy, choppy one.
Can you accommodate large groups?
Tours are small-group by design — typically 4 to 6 people — so everyone gets personal attention. If you have a larger group, message Gustavo and he'll figure out a plan that works.
Is there a bathroom on the boat?
The 40-foot boat doesn't have a restroom, but stops are built into the itinerary and Gustavo will make sure you're comfortable throughout the day.
